Deer in Oma's Backyard

A couple of weeks ago a doe with her two fawns walked right up into Oma's backyard. They walked along the side of the house at a pretty leisurely pace, crossed the street and went into the neighbor's backyard to feed on the corn she puts out for them. On Monday morning this week I noticed that something had eaten most of the tops off of the 3 tomatoe plants I had closest to the fence around the garden. From the way the plants were chewed off it looked like deer. The deer family now didn't look so cute to me anymore. I got out the liquid fence and sprayed. On Tuesday afternoon shortly before Oma and I went out shopping, we noticed the two fawns playing in the backyard along the southern tree line. I wrapped on the glass, they looked at us and then just carried on. After about 15 minutes one wandered off back toward the parkway. The second one lay down for a rest right in front of the trees. We went outside, pulled the car out of the garage, made all kinds of noise and still this little fawn just lay nestled in the grass. We went shopping and were gone for about two hours. When we got home the second fawn had returned and they were playing again. I sprayed the garden perimeter again and put down some feed corn. Hopefully they will leave the garden alone and eat the corn.
