Happy Birthday Stefan!

It's Stefan's 7th Birthday! He made quite an entrance into this world... a month early, but a happy baby. (We were not digital when he was born, so no baby photo.) Here he is at age 1... celebrating his birthday on Thanksgiving. Enjoy the pictures through the years... I don't have every year accounted for as I'm missing a disc.

Happy Birthday!

Joey's weekend in sports

MORE PHOTOS ADDED... SEE BELOW

Let's be honest... Joey had a very busy sports weekend and LOVED it! A few pictures of his fun:

Basketball game:

Swim Meet:

And a soccer jamboree... I haven't taken those pictures off my camera, but as soon as I do I will post them. He had 4 goals on Saturday. They won the first two game and lost the last game (they were short games). He was very proud, as he should be, as were all of us!

Edited to add soccer photos...

1. Joey attempting a goal... SCORE! (He made it happen... four times.)

2. Joey playing goalie and booting the ball down the field.

3. Joey receiving his medal after the tournament.

4. THUNDER

Stefan -- Warriors -- #14

Stefan had his first basketball game last night... he played great! He took the "jump" (don't have a clue what that is called) at the beginning of the game and was able to get it to our team. They won 16-11, Stefan scored 2 points (with many 3pt attempts... we told him that he's not in the NBA yet... get closer before you shoot), rebounded many and stole the ball a lot.

Stefan... hands up... he does it exactly as he should.

Stefan ready for the beginning of the game "jump" ball.

See Stefan's fingers... what number do you think he's suppose to guard? By the way, #2 was a really good player and Stefan did a great job guarding him.

Before the game... ready to go.

It was odd to not have Joey at the game watching his brother... he was at his basketball practice. This picture of Joey was from his first game, not basketball practice.

Burgerville

Emmi went on her Burgerville field trip today with her friend Claire. I was working, so Claire and her mommy graciously let Emmi hang out with them... they also went to the library, had lunch together, watched a movie, played dress-up and had a milkshake... what a day!

Claire and Emmi... both in pink!

Miss Sandy, Claire and Emmi... so cute!

Rain, Rain Go Away

We've had a lot of rain in the last couple of days... already tired of it! Can't it rain when I'm sleeping? What's wrong with that. Rain all night and let it be dry during the day. Kids need to run and play!

Back to the Regular week

Friends were fun, but now time for school. Today we are fighting small colds, playing basketball, field trips, book groups, homework, etc. Tomorrow, I get to attend a "Principal Lunch" with Stefan. He was recognized as the student of the month in his class for "respect". Should be fun.

What are you doing today?

Friends Visiting

It's a "No-School" day... last night we talked about why there is no school today. The boys actually could tell me why... to remember our Veteran's. For the boys' the better deal is having friends come to play... my camera battery is charging... I'll post photos later... my couch cushions have become "the pit". Oh, it should be an interesting day. The best part, so far, was sitting, chatting and drinking coffee with my friend, Tracy. We'll see what else I'll be in store for!

Busy Week Ahead

It's Monday morning... all is quiet and I'm looking at our schedule for the week? Whew... another good one. It will all work...

** Basketball, swimming, basketball, basketball, music class, book class, soccer, swimming **

I finally was able to put a scarf on my knitting needles... it's been at least 3 months...

Last Soccer Game -- for Stefan

Today was Stefan's last game of the season. He had a great game... scored at least 2 goals, maybe more... it was hard for me to tell in the massive down pour! He is finished... which means that I am finished for the season.

Joey had another great game... 3 goals, awesome footwork... he has one more game and a tournament still to play in. Let the rain be on hold!

Head Pounding

After having a cold for a week, sitting through a 1 1/2 hour basketball practice should not happen. 15 minutes into practice I reach for my purse, find the Excedrin and Joey's water bottle. There I sat... for the duration... knowing why I'm not a big basketball fan. Don't tell my kids... I love to watch them play... I just don't appreciate the noise. I think that I will be sitting in the hallway from now on!

Bragging Moment

Saturday, both Joey and Stefan had soccer games at 9am. I was bummed that I wouldn't be able to watch Joey play, but I was lucky enough to get to coach Stefan. As I looked across the field, I saw that Joey was in the goalie box... my heart sank. Don't get me wrong, he does a great job as goalie, but it always makes me nervous. Joe walked over after awhile to say that Joey was doing great... one goal went by that he couldn't have stopped and another went by and he was daydreaming... of course we chuckle over our family joke of ... "no lunch for you".

The second half begins and Joey is on the field playing. Joe walks over again and says... Joey has scored 4 goals. No way... he's only been playing for 5 minutes. Stefan's game ends (which was a good game... they boys played well... Stefan had some great shots, but they just weren't going in) I run over to Joey's game to see in score again... of course I begin cheering loudly. Then, he scores again. All in all, he scored 7 times during while only playing half of the game on the field. (One of his goals was called back.) He was elated. He was so proud of himself. But, you know what made me proud... he never gloated, not once. In fact, later as we talked he said... that was awesome... now I need to do that against that "other" team. He was referring to the team that beat us 9-1. Whew... what a game!
