Joey's weekend in sports

MORE PHOTOS ADDED... SEE BELOW

Let's be honest... Joey had a very busy sports weekend and LOVED it! A few pictures of his fun:

Basketball game:

Swim Meet:

And a soccer jamboree... I haven't taken those pictures off my camera, but as soon as I do I will post them. He had 4 goals on Saturday. They won the first two game and lost the last game (they were short games). He was very proud, as he should be, as were all of us!

Edited to add soccer photos...

1. Joey attempting a goal... SCORE! (He made it happen... four times.)

2. Joey playing goalie and booting the ball down the field.

3. Joey receiving his medal after the tournament.

4. THUNDER

Hhhhhot!

Well we reached 96 degrees yesterday! Whew... it was a hot one. Joey got one of his headaches at school, so I brought him home early. He took his medicine and slept for an hour and announced that he was fine.

The boys had a baseball game in the heat. Joe was adamant that he was going to play, so he did. They stayed hydrated, and played well. Joe pitched for 2/3 of the game. We've hit the half way mark in the season so it is now the "three strikes and your out" rule. Before they got 6 pitches and then could hit off the tee. Stefan was unable to get a hit, but tapped it a few times for a foal. Joey hit well; especially off of his dad. They had a great time. Emmi stayed in the shade and found a new little friend to play with.

After the game we headed to Papa Pete's for pizza with the Nesbitts and a few other friends to celebrate Nicollette's 12 birthday. I forgot my camera, so no pictures. But we all had a great time.

We're just back from swim lessons and (drum roll please....) Emmi swam on her own! She is so excited, as are Joe and I...

Getting the Hang of it!

I spent some time today practicing my knitting. I think that I am getting the hang of it (ha, there is so much to learn, but I can keep my wool on my needle :) I even came across a big problem... my wool broke in half. I thought... there must be a way to fix this... so I double the wool and kept knitting (incorporating the broken strand with the fresh strand.) I can't wait for Rita to see it... she will have lots of suggestions for the next time it happens.

The kids started swim lessons again today at the MAC. They did great. Joey, always the competitor, swam well to stay ahead of the others in class. Stefan went into class determined to pass level 3.... guess what, he did! He will begin level 4 next Saturday. And Miss Em... loves to put her face in the water now and be silly. The only reason I can handle the silliness is that it is just her personality. She does listen and she does try her best. After everyone was dressed we headed up to the gym. The boys shot baskets, Em tried and I tried to knit.

All in all, a good Saturday. Now Stefan is complaining of an oncoming cold. We'll see what happens :)
